7º adorno recibido! 7th Ornament Received!

Este es el 7º adorno que he recibido. Me lo envía hazeljoy y es un creativo adorno de papel ... bueno, en realidad son ¡2! :) Me gusta mucho la combinación de colores que ha utilizado!

This is the 7th ornament I've received. It has been sent by hazeljoy and it's a creative paper ornament... well, in fact there are 2!! :) I like a lot the combination of colours she has used!

He recibido un nuevo adorno. Es de Sandra y es un super original abridor de botellas!!!! La verdad es que me costó un poco descubrirlo, pero me ayudó el mensaje que escribió:

I have received a new ornament. It comes from Sandra and its a fantastic bottle opener!!!! In fact, it took me some time to discover it, but her message helped me:

El primero me lo envía Jen de Glasgow y es una adorable y blandita matrioska acompañada de una tarjeta con el típico Terrier escocés. ¡Me encanta! Es una preciosidad!!

The first one is from Jen (Glasgow) and it's a wonderful and softie matryoshka together with a nice card with the typical Scottish Terrier. I love it! It's really beautiful!!

El segundo es una original estrella de patchwork que me envía Clarisa. Me gusta mucho la combinación de telas que ha utilizado, todas muy navideñas. Quedará preciosa en el árbol!!

The second one is an original patchwork star sent by Clarisa. I like a lot the Christmas fabrics she has used. It will look wonderful on the tree!!

El primero es una preciosa estrella de punto de Sarah. El patrón es el Knitter's Almanac de Elizabeth Zimmermann.

The first one is a wonderful knitted star from Sarah. The pattern is Elizabeth Zimmermann's "Knitter's Almanac".

El segundo es un adorno adorable: un colorido pájaro dibujado sobre tela enviado por Jodie.

The 2nd one is an adorable ornament: a colorful bird on fabric and sent by Jodie.

Camino de mesa / Table Runner

¡Por fin!!! Después de no sé cuántos meses, por fin he acabado el camino de mesa para mi madre... Bueno, la verdad es que los primeros meses me dormí bastante (por no decir muchísimo), pero los últimos dos meses ya llevé un buen ritmo, sobre todo desde que decidí que se lo tenía que dar para su cumpleaños, que fue en noviembre y que, como podéis ver, no se lo pude dar a tiempo.

At last!!! After I don't know how many months, I have finally finished the table runner for my mother... Well, in fact the firsts months I hung around quite a lot (to say the least), but these last two months I have worked at a steady speed, especially when I decided that I have to give it to her for her birthday (it was in November and, as you can see, I couldn't give it to her on time).

Se lo di este jueves pasado y me dijo que le ha hecho más ilusión que si se lo hubiera dado el mismo día de su cumpleaños........ (madres, ¡qué van a decir!)

I gave it to her last Thursday and she said to me that she was more excited to receive it that day than if she had received on her birthday.......... (mothers, what are they going to say!!)

Ahora tengo que pensar cuál va a ser mi próximo proyecto...

Now I just need to think about my next project...

This Monday I sent the 10 ornaments for the Swap. How exciting! I hope they like them!

Este año he hecho una bola con un muñeco de nieve (combinación de telas de patchwork y fieltro). Estoy preparando una especie de tutorial por si alguien quiere hacerlo.

This year I've made a ball with a snowman (patchwork fabrics + felt). I'm preparing some kind of tutorial in case anybody would like to do it.

I have received my first Christmas Ornament from the 4th Annual Holiday Ornament Swap organized by Freshly Blended. It's really so exciting!!

Es un precioso "pájaro gitano" que me ha enviado JoAnn. Me encanta por su colorido: es tan alegre! La verdad es que mi compañero y yo nos quedamos con la boca abierta cuando abrimos el paquete! Increíble!!! Muchísimas gracias JoAnn!

It's a wonderful "gypsy bird" sent by JoAnn. I love it for its colours: so bright! My boyfriend and I were both open-mouthed when I opened the package! Incredible!!! Thank you very much JoAnn!

Acolchando / Quilting

Para mí, lo más difícil: el acolchado. Aunque con el bastidor, que he estrenado con este proyecto, resulta muchísimo más sencillo!

Quilting is the most difficult for me. Although with my new frame it is much easier!

También estoy acabando los adornos navideños para el Swap, pero os enseñaré todas las fotos cuando los tenga acabados.

El sábado fui a comer a casa de mi hermana. Me deleitó con un curry de verduras y arroz y una ensalada variada: todo estaba buenísimo!! Muchas gracias guapa!!
On Saturday I went to have lunch to my sister's home. She delighted me with a vegetables curry & rice and a salad: everything was delicious!! Thanks a lot "guapa"!!

This week, from 27th to 29th Nov., the Creativa Trade Fair takes place in Barcelona. I think I will go on Friday... let's see how it will be this year.

Sí, sí, ya ha salido! Este año también me he apuntado al swap de adornos navideños organizado por FreshlyBlended. El año pasado fue la primera vez que me apunté a este swap y la verdad es que fue una experiencia muy buena, así que ya tenía ganas de que saliera esta 4ª edición.
Yes!! This year I've also signed up for the 4th Annual Holiday Ornament Swap organized by Freshly Blended. Last year it was the first time I took part in this swap and it was a very nice experience, so I was really looking forward to this new edition.

De vuelta / Back again

Pues ya se han acabado las vacaciones! y qué rápido que han pasado! Espero que tod@s hayáis disfrutado mucho!! Aparte de descansar, estar con mi sobrinillo (y familia, por supuesto), leer y tomar el sol, no he hecho nada de nada!

So my holidays are finished now! and they have gone so quickly! I hope you all have enjoyed yours!! Apart from having a rest, being with my little nephew (and my family, of course), reading and sunbathing, I have done not a thing!

Revista y telas / Magazine & fabrics

Durante mi viaje a Suecia no pude ir de compras (no era cuestión con mi jefe al lado ;)), pero en el aeropuerto me escapé un rato y me compré una revista sueca: Quiltemagasinet.

During my trip to Sweden I couldn't go shopping (it wouldn't have been a good idea to go with my boss ;)), but in the airport I "escaped" for a while and I bought a Swedish magazine: Quiltemagasinet

Cambiando de tema, poco a poco voy avanzando con el camino de mesa. De momento ya he cortado todos los trozos (¡por fin!), así que a ver si ahora voy más rápido....
Changing the subject, I'm making some progress with the table runner. At the moment, I've cut all the pieces (at last!), so let's see if I'm quicker now....

Karlskrona - Suecia / Sweden

Últimamente tengo un montón de trabajo! Lo bueno es que una de las razones ha sido porque he tenido que hacer un viaje por trabajo. Es muy agotador, y pocas veces se puede visitar algo, pero aunque sólo sea por el paisaje, ya vale la pena.

Lately I've been having a lot of work! But, the good thing is that I've made a business travel. It's always tiring, and I can rarely visit anyplace, but just seeing the landscape is enough.

Karlskrona - plaza principal / main square

La semana pasada estuve en Karlskrona (Suecia). Fue realmente un viaje relámpago: el lunes todo el día de viaje (2 aviones), el martes, reuniones en Karlskrona y el miércoles de vuelta a Barcelona (2 aviones más).

Last week I went to Karlskrona (Sweden). It was really a flying visit: on Monday we travelled all day (2 planes); on Tuesday, meetings in Karlskrona; and on Wednesday we came back to Barcelona (2 more planes).

Por suerte, en este viaje, tuvimos un poco de tiempo libre después de cenar (a las 18.30h!), así que pudimos visitar un poco el centro de la ciudad y el puerto.

Luckily, in this trip we enjoyed some free time after dinner (at 6.30pm!), so we could visit the town center and the harbour.

Karlskrona: puerto a las 23.00h / harbour at 11pm

Además, durante el día nos llevaron a visitar el Museo Marítimo de la ciudad, que fue muy interesante.And we could also visit the Maritime Museum of the town, which was very interesting.

Mi primera cena: pollo con salsa de tomate picante / My first dinner: chicken with hot tomato sauce

En resumen, lo poco que vi me encantó!
In short, the little I've seen I've loved it!

A un ritmo lento / Slowly

Pues sí, me lo he tomado con muchísima calma: 1 mes - 1 bloque. A este ritmo no acabo ni el año que viene el camino de mesa.

So, I'm taking it very slowly and calmy: 1 month - 1 block. At this rate I won't even finish the table runner next year.

Pero, como Laura, estoy enganchada a la trilogía de Millenium. Ya me he leído el primero y ayer empecé el segundo... está super interesante!
But, like Laura, I'm hooked on the Millenium trilogy. I've already read the first one and yesterday I began the second one... it's very interesting!

jejeje, al ritmo que llevo, al final mi sobrinillo también se tendrá que poner los ovillos de lana que tengo aquí desde antes que nació esperando a que le haga un jersey, jejeje.
