SAL 12 Meses en Rojo Febrero/ February

Ahora que ya he dejado la gripe atrás, vuelvo a tener ganas de coser :) He acabado el bloque de febrero del SAL y ahora seguiré con la colcha para mi sobrinillo.

Now that I've left the flu behind, I feel like sewing again :) I've finished February's block and I'll continue now with the quilt for my little nephew.

Podéis ver que ya he cosido bien los tejados, ahora queda mucho mejor...
You can see that I've sewn well the roofs, it looks much better now...

Para los bordados he utilizado el punto de cadeneta.
For the embroideries, I've used the chain stitch.

Y, desde luego, lo más complicado han sido los corazones del árbol. Os pongo mi conversación con mi novio:

Yo (sonriendo): Mira, he acabado el bloque, ¿te gusta?

M: Sí, es muy bonito. Me gustan los pajaritos, te han quedado muy bien.

Yo: ?????????????? No son pájaros, son corazones...

M: Ahhhh...... (lo mira más de cerca) sí, es verdad, te han quedado muy bien...

And, surely, the most difficult thing has been the hearts of the tree. My conversation with my boyfriend:

Me (smiling): Look, I've finished the block, do you like it?
M: Yes, it's very nice. I like the birds, they look beautiful.
Me: ?????????????? They aren't birds, they're hearts.....
M: Ohhh... (he looks at it closer) yes, it's true, they look beautiful...

Vale, los corazones no me han quedado perfectos, pero ¿pájaros??
OK, the hearts are not perfect, but birds??

Otra vez la gripe??/ The Flu Again??

¿Será posible que haya vuelto a tener la gripe???? Hacía un mes que la había pasado y el domingo por la noche volví a tener fiebre y he estado toda la semana pasada enferma!! Ahora ya no tengo fiebre y me encuentro bien, lo único que sigo con una tos horrible!! Espero haber cumplido ya con mi cupo anual de gripes...

Would you believe it!! I've had the flu again!!!! One month ago I already had the flu and on Sunday night I was feverish and I've been all the week sick!!! Now I feel well, except for a terrible cough!! I hope I've fulfill my annual quota of flus...

Así que no he hecho nada esta semana, aunque os enseño lo que tenía adelantado de la colcha "Charca de las ranas". Esta semana tengo que ponerme las pilas...

Qué rabia!! / How annoying!!

He cosido el tejado a una de las casas y cuando he cogido el otro tejado para coserlo a la segunda casa, resulta que la tela es igual que la de la casa!!!! Aggghhh! He intercambiado los tejados!!!

I've sewn the roof to one of the houses, and when I've taken the other one to sew it to the second house, I've realised that the fabric is the same as the house's!!! Ohhh!! I've exchanged the roofs!!!

Ya decía yo que iba un poco justo al coserlo.... ahora me toca deshacerlo y coserlos bien :(

I thought it was a bit small while I was sewing it... now I have to undo it and sew them again :(

Colcha "Charca de las Ranas"/ "Frog Pond" Quilt

Como ya os comenté aquí, voy a ser tía por segunda vez, así que he empezado a prepararle al bebé una colcha para la cuna que he sacado de un libro que me ha dejado Vicky, compañera de patch: "Aplicaciones de patchwork con motivos infantiles", de Susan Cousineau. De entre todos los proyectos, he elegido el de la "Charca de las ranas", un diseño muy alegre y simpático :)

As I told you here, I'm going to be aunt for the second time, so I've begun to prepare a quilt for his cot from a book that Vicky, a friend from patch, has lent me: "Sweet Nursery Chic", from Susan Cousineau. From all the projects inside, I've chosen the "Frog Pond", a lively and nice design :)

Ya sé, ya, que el bebé nacerá este mes de febrero y que voy un "poquillo" retrasada (ejem ejem), pero tengo aproximadamente un mes para acabarlo, que es cuando podré ir a visitarles :) Espero que me dé tiempo!

I know, I know that the baby will be born this February and that I'm "a bit" delayed with it (ahem ahem), but I've about a month to finish it, because it's when I'll visit them :) I hope I will have enough time!

SAL 12 Meses en Rojo Enero/January

Hola!! No veáis lo contentos que estamos de habernos puesto la calefacción justo antes de que empezaran estas olas de frío!! Ya no vivimos en la "Era Glacial", jejeje.

Hello!! We are so happy with having installed the gas heating at home just before this coll spell!! We are not living in the Ice Age any more, hehehe.

He acabado el bloque de enero del SAL y ya he empezado a preparar las aplicaciones del de febrero.
I've finished January's block and I've begun to prepare the appliqué for February.

Lo más complicado de este bloque han sido las esquinas de los árboles! Me daba la sensación de que se iban a deshilachar en cualquier momento!
The most difficult thing in this block has been the corners of the trees! It seemed that the fabric was going to fray at any time!

SAL 12 Meses en Rojo Diciembre/ December

Hola a tod@s!! ¿Qué tal esta semana? Espero que mejor que la mía... un breve resumen: he estado con la gripe, pero no la he pasado en mi casa sino que me he tenido que "trasladar" por un par de días a casa de mis padres porque justo ha coincidido con que me han venido a instalar la calefacción en casa. ¡Nunca me pongo enferma y me he tenido que poner mala con operarios en casa! Pero ahora, después de hacer una limpieza a fondo a casa, ha valido la pena (ponerse la calefacción, no coger la gripe), ¡por fin estamos calentitos!!! :)

Hi everybody!! How was your week? I hope better than mine... a short summary: I've had the flu, and I needed to move for two days to my parents' house because it has coincided with the gas heating installation at home. I'm never ill and I've had to get sick with the workers at home! But now, after a thorough clean to all my flat, it's been worth it (the installation, not the flu): we are finally warmer here!!! :)

Feliz Año!!! / Happy New Year!!!

¡Feliz Año Nuevo a tod@s!!! Un poco tarde, ya lo sé... Nunca había estado tanto tiempo sin publicar nada, pero ha sido por vacaciones, la visita de mi hermana, cuñado y sobrinillo a Barcelona y la vuelta al trabajo. Ahora ya he vuelto a la rutina así que espero ponerme al día poco a poco, visitar todos vuestros blogs y volver a coser :)

Happy New Year to everybody!!! Yes, I know it's a bit late.... I've never spent so much time without publishing anything, but it's been because of my holidays, my sister's+ brother-in-law+ little nephew's visit to Barcelona, and my return to work. Now I've started my daily routine again, so I hope to get up to date gradually, visit all your blogs and sew again :)

Para empezar, me gustaría recomendaros el calendario de My Owl Barn, que seguro que muchas ya conocéis. Me lo he colgado en la nevera. Para este mes de enero he elegido la ilustración de Juliette Crane. ¿A qué es bonita?

For a start, I'd like to recommend you My Owl Barn's calendar, as many of you surely know. I've hung it on the fridge. For this month of January I've chosen an illustration from Juliette Crane. Isn't it nice?

Como obsequio de Navidad para mi familia, imprimí unas copias y las regalé junto a un imán de Hey Sosi que compré en el Festivalet (diciembre 2011). Tuvieron mucho éxito! :)

As a Christmas present for my family, I printed some copies and I gave them with a magnet from Hey Sosi that I bought during the Festivalet, an independent crafts fair made in Barcelona last December 2011. They were very successful! :)

Otro calendario que me gusta mucho es de Cecilia, de Una Flor de Papel. En este caso es un calendario lunar.

SAL 12 Meses en Rojo Noviembre/ November

Hace ya unos días que acabé el bloque de noviembre del SAL 12 Meses en Rojo de Griselda. Ya he empezado el de diciembre, y que espero acabar este mes... :)
Some days ago I finished November's block of the quilt "12 Meses en Rojo" (12 Months in Red) of Griselda. I've already begun the one for December, which I hope to finish this month... :)

Este no ha sido tan complicado como el anterior, con tanta hojita. Aquí tenéis unas cuantas fotos en detalle:

He empezado a diseñar el adorno de Navidad de este año. Esta noche quiero empezarlos mientras veo "The Walking Dead", serie a la que estoy enganchadísima!! ¿Alguien más lo está?

I've begun to design the Christmas ornaments for this year. And I want to begin them tonight while I watch "The Walking Dead", on which I'm hooked!! Anybody else?

Sí sí, habéis leído bien, es el adorno del 2010!! Resulta que he empezado a pensar en el adorno para el árbol que les voy a regalar este año a mi familia y me he dado cuenta de que no os hice el tutorial del adorno del año pasado!! Así, que ahora mismo lo arreglo!

Yes, you have read well, I mean the ornament from 2010!! The thing is, I've begun to think about the Xmas Tree ornament I will give this year to my family and I've realised that I've forgotten to make the tutorial for the last year ornament!! So I immediately sort it out!

Gorrito bebé / Baby Hat

Creo que no os lo había dicho... mi hermana tendrá un bebé en febrero! :) Es una gran noticia y estamos todos contentísimos de que mi sobrinillo, que ahora hará 3 años, tenga un hermanito (sí, será otro niño)... mis padres sobre todo, y más al ver que ni yo ni mi otra hermana estamos por la labor, jejeje.

I think I haven't told you yet... my is sister is having a baby in February! :) These are great news and we are all really happy that my little nephew, who will be now 3 years old, will have a brother (yes, it'll another boy)... above all my parents, especially because neither my other sister nor me are thinking about it, hehehe.

Así que tengo que empezar a hacerle cositas al bebé. Este fin de semana le he hecho un gorrito para bebés de 0-3 meses con una lana Merino (Biberon Merino Superfine).
So now I have to begin doing things for the baby. Last weekend I made I baby hat for newborn babys with a Merino yarn (Biberon Merino Superfine).

Uy, mirad quien se ha instalado en él, jejeje...
Oops, look who's moved there, hehehe...

El patrón es super sencillo, básicamente punto elástico las primeras vueltas y luego punto bobo e ir menguando, unir y al final un pompón (que, la verdad, me ha quedado un poco escuálido...). Y lo mejor es que queda muy resultón :)

The pattern is very simple, basically rib stitch the first rows, then garter stitch, then decreases, sew and, at the end, a pompom (I know, mine is a bit tiny...). The best thing is that it looks nice :)

Igual que a Bruno, le quiero hacer también una colcha para la cuna, así que ya puedo empezar a pensar. Esta es la que le hice a Bruno cuando nació.

Like I did when Bruno was born, I want to make the baby a blanket for his cot, so I have to begin thinking about it. This is the one I made for Bruno when he was born.

SAL 12 Meses en Rojo

Pues ahora que ya estamos en noviembre, he acabado el bloque correspondiente a octubre del SAL "12 Meses en Rojo" de Griselda ... y hoy mismo me pongo con el de este mes :)

Now that we are in November I've finished October's block of the quilt "12 Meses en Rojo (12 Months in Red) ... and later I'll begin this month's one :)

Sin duda, lo más complicado han sido las hojas... y así han quedado, claro...

Without doubt, the most complex have been the leaves... as you can see them...

Palmeras / Palmiers

No es que yo sea precisamente una gran cocinera, y normalmente no me dedico a preparar platos muy elaborados, pero hoy me he decidido a hacer palmeras de hojaldre.
I'm not exactly a great cook, and I don't devote a lot of time to make elaborated dishes, but today I've made up my mind to make puff palmiers.

El otro día encontré esta video-receta, y me pareció bastante sencillo de hacer, así que hoy me he decidido a probar. Son facilísimas y muy rápidas de hacer, y quedan buenísimas!!

The other day I found this video-recipe (this one is in Spanish, but here you can find one in English, and there are many others in Internet if you are interested). It seemed very simple, so today I've decided to try. They are really easy and quick to do, and they are delicious!!

He hecho una prueba y en algunas he puesto chocolate por encima... mmmm! deliciosas!
Just to test, I've put some chocolate on some of them .... delicious!
