Colcha de la Amistad / Friendship Quilt

Qué mal día hace hoy en Barcelona! Hace poco ha caído una terrible, aunque ahora, por suerte, ha parado...
He recibido otro bloque para la Colcha de la Amistad! Ya quedan menos :))

Today the weather is terrible in Barcelona! Short time ago it has been raining cats and dogs, but, fortunately, now it has stopped...
I have received another block for the Friendship Quilt! I just need to receive a few more :))

Este bloque es de Candi, de Palma de Mallorca, con su café con leche, por tantos que nos hemos tomado juntas (virtualmente jeje). Me encanta, muchas gracias Candi!!

This block is from Candi (Palma de Mallorca), with a cappuccino, as we have taken many together (virtually hehe). I love it, thanks a lot Candi!!

Proyecto secreto / Secret Project

¡Cuánto hace que no publico nada! Pero no os penséis que no estoy haciendo nada, lo que pasa que no puedo enseñar lo que estoy cosiendo.

De la Colcha de la Amistad sólo me quedan por enviar 4 :)) 

It's a long time I don't publish a post! But don't think that I'm not sewing anything, the thing is that I cannot show anything of what I'm doing.

I only need to finish 4 blocks for the Friendship Quilt :))

Y paralelamente he empezado un proyecto secreto, que espero acabar esta semana. Es una sorpresa para 4 bebés (que no recién nacidos), que si no me doy prisa serán adolescentes antes de recibirlo jeje. Sólo os enseño una pequeña parte del proyecto y las telas que estoy usando ;)

And, in parallel, I've begun this secret project, which I expect to finish during this week. It's a surprise for 4 babies (notice that they are not newborns anymore), and if I don't hurry up, they will be teenagers before I finish them hehe. I can just show you a bit of the project and the fabrics I'm using ;)

Country Vache

Estos días me he centrado en ir avanzando el Country Vache y ya he unido todos los bloques. He tardado un poco porque lo estoy haciendo a mano. Ahora sólo me falta comprar la tela para los bordes y la trasera y acolcharlo todo :)

These days I've focussed on the Country Vache and I've sewn together all the blocks. It has taken me some time because it's handmade. Now, I just need to buy the fabric for the borders and the back and quilt it :)

Barcelona

¿Cómo habéis pasado la Semana Santa? Espero que muy bien! Yo me he quedado en Barcelona, así que he aprovechado a coser y cuando el tiempo lo ha permitido, también he disfrutado de la ciudad. 

El domingo fue uno de esos días, estuvo muy nublado todo el día, pero no llovió. Os dejo unas fotos :)

Did you have a nice Easter? I hope so! I've stayed in Barcelona, so I've been sewing and, when the weather allowed it, I've also enjoyed the city.

Sunday was one of those days, it was really cloudy, but it didn't rained. Here you have some photos :)

Maratón de Barcelona 2013 / Barcelona Marathon 2013

El pasado domingo se corrió la maratón de Barcelona... y no, no os penséis que yo la corrí, pero como vivimos cerca, pues nos fuimos a animar a los corredores a la llegada.

Last Sunday it took place the Barcelona Marathon... and no, don't think that I ran in it, but as we live close to the finishing line, we went there to cheer the runners up. 

A ratos llovía, pero sin molestar. En la foto de arriba se ve la llegada, en la Av. Reina Mª Cristina, con el Palacio de Montjuic al fondo. Abajo, antes del kilómetro 40, está el puerto al fondo.

From time to time it rained, but without bothering the runners. On the photo above you can see the finishing line, on the Reina Mª Cristina Ave., with Montjuic Palace at the backdrop. Below, just before km40, there is the port.

Y aquí tenéis unas cuantas fotos más (malísimas, ya lo sé...).

And here you can see some more photos (very bad, I know...).

No sé vosotr@s, pero yo me veo completamente incapaz de correr tantos kilómetros! Todos ellos tienen que sentirse muy orgullosos y muy emocionados al llegar a la meta.

I don't know you, but I'm just not capable of running so many kilometers! All of them must be very proud of themselves and very moved when reaching the finishing line.

Sitges 2013

El sábado fui a visitar el Festival Internacional de Patchwork de Sitges con unas amigas. Me hubiera gustado encontrarme con más chicas bloggeras allí, pero fue un día muy completo. 

On Saturday I went with some friends to visit the Sitges Patchwork Fair. I'd have liked to meet more blogger friends, but it was a full day.

No hice fotos de las carpas porque en muchos sitios no dejaban, así que ya ni saqué la cámara, pero sí que os puedo enseñar mis compras :))

I didn't take any photos of the stands because they weren't allowed in many of the shops, so I didn't even take out my camera... but I can show you what I bought :))

En resumen, fue un día fantástico (y muy agotador) donde nos acordamos de todas las del grupo que no pudieron venir. Ya con ganas de que llegue la siguiente cita.

Un paseo / A walk

Desde la semana pasada está haciendo muy mal tiempo en Barcelona... pero el fin de semana, por suerte, hizo bueno. Os dejo una foto que hice el domingo del puerto de Barcelona... Daba un gusto pasear bajo el sol!

We are having a terrible weather in Barcelona since last week... but, luckily, it was wonderful on the weekend. This is a photo I made on Sunday at the port of Barcelona... It was so nice to walk in the sun! 

Duró poco, desde el lunes llueve sin parar..

But it didn't last long, it hasn't stopped raining since Monday..

Colcha de la amistad y premio / Friendship Quilt & Award

Estos días estoy trabajando en mis bloques para la Colcha de la Amistad. Tengo que hacer unos 20, así que ahora estoy en plena producción en serie jejeje. Os enseño sólo un poquillo para que quede algo de sorpresa cuando los reciban ;)

I'm working now on my blocks for the Friendship Quilt. I have to do about 20, so it's like a mass production hehehe. I show you just a bit so that it's still a surprise when they receive them ;)

Cambiando de tema, me gustaría agradecer a Núria, del blog Patch & Words, que haya pensado en mi para darme un premio. La verdad es que me ha hecho mucha ilusión :)

Changing the subject, I'd like to thank Núria (Patch & Words blog) for giving me an award. I'm really thrilled :)

Tengo que decir 7 cosas sobre mí:

- Me gusta el otoño y el invierno

- Me encanta la lluvia

- Mi perro favorito es el bulldog, los encuentro muy tiernos :)

- No me gusta nada el calor, prefiero el frío (aunque no morir congelada jeje)

- Siempre me levanto temprano, incluso el fin de semana...

- Me relajan las manualidades

- Me gustan las plantas, flores, ...

I have to say 7 things about me:

- I like Autumn and Winter

- I love rain

- My favourite dog is the bulldog, they are so tender :)

- I don't like the heat, I prefer cold weather (but not to freeze to death hehe)

- I always wake up early, even on weekends...

- Handcrafts relax me

- I like plants, flowers,...

Orquídea / Orchid

Me hace ilusión enseñaros la orquídea que mis padres me regalaron por mi cumpleaños en octubre... ha sacado más capullos y está floreciendo!!

I'm thrilled to show you the orchid my parents gave me last October for my birthday... it's come into bud and it's blooming!

Le he sacado un montón de fotos, jeje, pero sólo os pongo unas pocas...
I've taken lots of photos, hehe, but I put just a few ones...

Si os fijáis en el cactus que hay detrás, casi toca el techo...
If you look at the cactus at the back, it nearly touches the ceiling...

Flores abriéndose... con vistas de mi pequeña cocina... y desde esa ventana veo el famoso paraguas (que sigue allí).

Flowers blooming... my small kitchen at the back... and from this window I see the famous umbrella (which is still there).

Estas son las vistas desde la ventana de mi cocina, y os podéis imaginar la cara que he puesto cuando he visto ese paraguas de niña rosa allí colgado mientras me preparaba el desayuno, jejeje. Reconozco que he alucinado bastante!

These are the views from my kitchen window, and you can imagine my face while I was preparing my breakfast and I've seen this pink girly umbrella hanging there, hehehe. I have to admit that I was stunned!

Bolsa de tela / Cotton Tote Bag

Un complemento que llevo siempre conmigo es una bolsa de tela, sobre todo entre semana. Siempre llevo algún papel, el cargador del móvil (jeje), el tupperware vacío para devolvérselo a mi madre (jejeje), etc. 

An accessory I always take with me is a tote bag, especially during the week. I always carrying some papers, the mobile charger (hehe), the empty tupperware to give it back to my mother (hehehe), etc.

La que tenía hasta ahora estaba hecha polvo, así que este fin de semana me hice una copiando la que tenía. He utilizado una tela bastante fuerte que compré hace tiempo en el Ikea y, para que no fuera tan sosa, le he bordado un gatito.

The one I've been using up to now was broken, so last weekend I made a new one. I've used a quite strong fabric I bought some time ago at Ikea. And, in order that it isn't so dull, I've embroidered a little cat.

Ésta la he hecho a mano, básicamente porque no sé usar la máquina de coser. Pero quiero hacer más para regalar, así que será una buena manera de aprender a usar la máquina de una vez :)

This one is handmade, basically because I don't know how to use my new sewing machine. As I want to make some more as gifts, it would be a very good way to learn how to use it :)

Country Vache: Todos juntos / All together

Ayer salió el sol en Barcelona, así que pude hacer unas fotos a todos los bloques de las vacas juntos... aunque no son muy buenas, pero así os podéis hacer una idea :)

Yesterday it was a sunny day in Barcelona, so I took some photos of all the cows together... They are not very good, but you can have an overview :)

Ya estoy cosiendo las tiras de cuadrados 3x3 que irán entre algunos de los bloques. Y el siguiente paso será unirlo todo.

I'm sewing now the 3x3 squares that go between some of the blocks. And the next step will be to sew them all together.

Country Vache: 12 y último/ 12 & the last one

Y por fin!!! He acabado el último bloque del Country Vache!!!!! Ahora ya "sólo" me falta unirlos y acolcharlo... 

At last!!! I've finished the last block of the Country Vache!!! Now I "only" need to sew them together and quilt them...

He hecho una foto de todas las vacas juntas, pero ha salido muy amarilla. A ver si la repito y queda mejor para enseñárosla.

I've taken a photo of all the cows together, but it's very yellowish. I'll take a new one and show it to you.
