Mantelitos individuales / Place Mats

Como os expliqué en este post, cuando me fui al pueblo me llevé todo preparado para acabar unos mantelitos individuales para mis sobrinos. Sólo me faltaba ponerles el bies, así que en unos ratitos me dio tiempo a acabarlos.

As I explained to you in this post, when I went to visit my sister, I took with me everything I needed to finish the place mats for my nephews. I just had to sew the bias, so I could find some time to finish them.

Me acordé mucho de un comentario que me dejó Susan, del blog Entretelitas, porque yo pensaba que tendría tiempo de acabarlos por la noche ... jajaja ni en sueños! Qué razón tenía! eso de que los niños se fueran a dormir temprano fue como una utopía, sobre todo cuando en esa zona no empezaba a anochecer hasta pasadas las 22h.

Así que, después de comer, cuando el pequeño hacía la siesta, aproveché para ir cosiendo...

I remembered one comment from Susan (Entretelitas) because I thought I could finish them at night... hahaha No way! She was totally right! It was like an Utopia to think that they would go to sleep early at night, especially when, at that area, it began getting dark after 10pm.

So, I finally could sew after lunchtime, when the youngest one had a nap...

Hace un tiempo me compré un panel con unos dragones muy divertidos, y utilicé un par para adornar los individuales. 

Some time ago I bought a panel with some funny dragons, and I used two of them for the place mats.

He escogido dos iguales pero de diferente color, más que nada, para evitar las típicas peleas de hermanos ;)

I chose the same drawing but in a different colour, basically because I wanted to avoid the typical brother's fights ;)

Un poco más cerca / A bit closer:

Les he cosido a cada uno su inicial: B de Bruno y S de Simón. 

I've sewn their first initial on them: B of Bruno and S of Simon.

Y la tela de la letra es la misma que la de la trasera y del bies.

The fabric of each letter is the same one as the back and the bias.

Aquí las traseras... por cierto, no os fijéis mucho en las arrugas, no están planchados...

Here you can see the back of them... (and please, don't look at the wrinkles as I didn't iron them for the photos).

Para hacer el bies, he utilizado el tutorial de Anna Orduña que he utilizado ya alguna vez (aquí). 

For the bias, I've used the tutorial from Anna Orduña I've used before (here). 

El acolchado es muy sencillo, líneas rectas y siguiendo las aplicaciones y los dibujos.

The quilting is very simple: straight lines and around the appliqués and drawings.

 

A los niños les gustó mucho, y a mi hermana también... y ya me dijo que no piensa ponérselos para comer porque le daría mucha pena que se manchasen. Según ella no durarían limpios ni medio segundo, así que les va a buscar otro uso... vaya!

The boys really loved them, and my sister too... but she told me that they aren't going to use them with meals as it would be a shame that they got dirty. According to her, they wouldn't be clean during half a second, so she's going to look for another use... damn!

En resumen, un proyecto muy sencillo y rápido de hacer que queda muy resultón.

In short, it's a very simple project, very quick to do and nice.

Fotos de las vacaciones/ Holiday Photos

Como os dije aquí, este verano me fui a pasar unos días a casa de mi hermana en un pueblo de Castilla.

As I told you here, in August I went to visit my sister at her home in a small village in Castile.

Siempre que voy allí, el primer día me cuesta acostumbrarme ir sin prisas a todas partes. En Barcelona todo está cronometrado al milímetro, y aquí los horarios casi casi los marca el estómago ;)

Every time I go there, the first day I find it difficult to go at a leisurely pace. In Barcelona, everything is timed, and here it's the stomach that times the daytime hours ;)

Os pongo algunas fotos de los campos de la zona... ¿no os parecen bonitos?

También tuvimos tiempo de ir al huerto y coger unas cebollas enormes!

We also had time to go to vegetable garden and pick some huge onions!

Y un día fuimos a visitar una bodega de la zona. Nunca había visitado ninguna y me gustó la experiencia, sobre todo la cata jejeje 
One day we went to visit a winery of the are. I've never visited one before and I liked the experience a lot, especially the tasting hehehe

En resumen, fueron unos días muy muy muy tranquilos... ah, y me dio tiempo a terminar los mantelitos individuales de mis sobrinillos. En mi próximo post os los enseño :)))

In brief, I spent some really quiet days... oh, and I had time to finish the place mats for my nephews. I'll show them to you in my next post :)))

Bienvenida rutina y Ganadora sorteos / Welcome Routine & Winner Giveaways

Aunque por un lado agradezco volver a la rutina, cada año que pasa noto más los típicos síntomas de la depresión post-vacacional. Hasta hace un par de años no me afectaba, pero ahora cada vez me cuesta más volver a la rutina... menos mal que me dura un par de días.

Pero este año la vuelta a la realidad no ha sido tan dura ya que he tenido muchísima suerte y ¡¡¡he ganado dos sorteos!!! Estoy que no me lo creo!!!

Although I usually welcome routine, each new year I suffer more the typical post-holiday blues. Some years ago I didn't feel them, but now it's harder to return to routine... At least it just takes a few days to wear off.

But this year, the return to normality hasn't been hard at all... I've been very lucky and I've won 2 giveaways!!! I can't believe it!!!

- The first one was organized by Patchwork en Casa magazine. 

- The second one was organized by Ana, from La Ardillita de Patch.

Todavía no me puedo creer lo afortunada que he sido!!!! He recibido ya el regalo de Ana y todavía estoy flotando de la alegría :))))) ¿Sabéis cuando recibís un regalo y, a medida que lo vais abriendo, os quedáis sin palabras de tanto que os gusta?

I still cannot believe how lucky I've been!!! I've already received Ana's gift and I'm still jumping for joy :))))) Do you know when you receive a present and, as you're opening it, you get speechless with emotion because you love it?

Pues así me quedé yo cuando abrí el paquete y vi la cesta tan cuca llena de cositas!!! (creedme cuando os digo que tengo una sonrisa permanente en la cara al escribir este post).

Vacaciones / Holidays

Por fin ya estoy de vacaciones!! Ahora lo estoy preparando todo porque mañana mismo me voy al pueblo a pasar unos días con mi hermana. 

At last I'm on holidays!! Now I'm preparing everything because tomorrow I'm going to visit my sister for some days.

Entre todo lo que tengo que hacer antes de irme, estoy haciéndoles unos mantelitos individuales a mis sobrinillos, así que ya podéis imaginaros que voy algo estresada con los preparativos de última hora jeje 

Among all the things I have to do before travelling, I'm making a place mat for my each of my two little nephews. So, you can imagine that I'm quite stressed now with the last-minute preparations hehehe

De momento ya estoy acabando de acolcharlos, pero ya veo que no me va a dar tiempo a ponerles el bies antes de salir.

I've already quilted them, but I see that I won't have time to sew the bias in Barcelona.

Mi intención es llevármelo todo preparado y acabarlos allí... espero que se vayan a dormir temprano para que me dejen coser sin que los vean jeje

12 Meses en Rojo - Junio / June

¿Cómo lleváis el verano? Yo ya estoy deseando que llegue el viernes para empezar mis vacaciones :)) De momento, más o menos voy a haciendo vida normal aunque intentando disfrutar del solecillo.

How is your Summer going on? I'm really looking forward it's Friday to begin my holidays :)) At the moment, I'm doing my daily routine, although I'm trying to enjoy the sun.

Enchufada delante del aire acondicionado por las noches, he conseguido acabar el bloque de junio del SAL "12 Meses en Rojo" que organizó Griselda. 

In the evening, just sitting in front of the air-conditioning, I've managed to finish the block of June for the SAL "12 Meses en Rojo" (12 Months in Red) organized by Griselda.

Ya "sólo" me quedan cuatro :)))

So I "just" need to do 4 more :)))

Otro monedero con boquilla/ A New Metal Clasp Purse

¿Cómo van vuestras ganas de coser? En mi caso, con este calor no muchas, aunque algo he hecho...

Are you looking forward to sewing these days? In my case, I just don't feel like it in this heat, but I've done something...

Como os expliqué en mi anterior post, he hecho otro monedero con boquilla para otra compañera de trabajo. 

As I explained to you in my last post, I've made another metal clasp purse for another colleague.

Lo he querido hacer algo diferente, así que lo he hecho con otras telas, aunque de tonos rojizos igual que el primero. 

I wanted it to be a bit different, so I've used other fabrics but in reddish colour too.

Aquí podéis ver los dos. He seguido el mismo tutorial de Tela Marinera que con el primero y aún me ha resultado más fácil de seguir.

In the photos, you can see both of them. I've followed the same tutorial from Tela Marinera as with the first one, and I've found it even easier to follow. 

Ya tienen cada una el suyo y os puedo decir que les gustó mucho. Además, como no se lo esperaban, les hizo mucha ilusión :))) (y a mí también jeje).

So, they both have now their own purse and I can tell you they really liked them. And, as they didn't expected it, they were thrilled with them :))) (and me too hehehe).

Ahora que les he perdido el miedo a las boquillas, creo que haré más. Queda muy bonito y es bastante rápido de hacer... y gusta mucho!

Now that I've overcome my fear to metal clasps, I think I'll make more projects with them. The result is very nice and they're quite quick to do...

Monedero de Boquilla / Metal Clasp Purse

No sé si es el verano, el calor, o que hay más horas del luz al día, pero llevo unos días que me cuesta sentarme delante del ordenador y ponerme al día con el blog. A ver si me pongo las pilas...

I don't know if it's because it's Summer, or the heat, or because there are more daylight hours, but lately I don't feel like sitting in front of the computer... 

De momento, y hasta que haga una selección de las fotos del viaje, os enseño mi primer (sí, el primero!!!) monedero de boquilla que he estado haciendo estos días.

For the moment, and until I choose some photos of the trip, I show you my first (yes, the first one!!!) metal clasp purse I've been doing these days.

Es un regalo para una compañera de trabajo que cumplió años la semana pasada. En el último momento me decidí a hacerle uno a ella y a otra compañera que los cumplirá esta semana, así que compré las primeras boquillas que encontré. Son más sencillas que las que he visto por la Red, pero para mi primera experiencia con ellas ya está bien.

It's a present for one of my colleagues whose birthday was last week. At the last minute I decided to make one for her and another one for another colleague who will be 32 tomorrow, so I bought the first metal clasps I found. They are simpler than the ones I've seen on the net, but they're ok for the first time.

He estado buscando tutoriales por Internet y al final me he decidido por el que publicó Tela Marinera Patchwork hace ya un tiempo. Está muy bien explicado y es muy fácil de seguir.

I've been looking for some tutorials through Internet, and I've finally used the one posted by Tela Marinera Patchwork some months ago. It's very well explained and very easy to follow.

También quiero probar también el tutorial que nos propuso Carmen de Osito de Trapo, pero como nunca había hecho nada con boquillas, quería hacer algo muy sencillo para esta primera vez.

I also want to try the tutorial published by Carmen, Osito de Trapo, but as I had never done any work with metal clasps before, I wanted a really simple pattern for this first time.

Ahora estoy con el segundo monedero, que espero acabar esta semana. La idea es regalárselo a las dos a la vez este jueves, cuando cumple años mi otra compañera.

Now I'm making the second purse, which I hope to finish this week. I'd like to give them to both of them at the same time.

Me gusta cómo están quedando, así que me parece que voy a hacer unos cuantos para regalar estas Navidades :)))

I like it a lot, so I think I will prepare more as gifts for next Christmas :)))

De vacaciones / On holidays

He estado unos días desaparecida, pero por una buena razón: me he ido de vacaciones con mi chico a Copenhague. Este año él tiene las vacaciones ahora en junio-julio, así que he aprovechado el puente que tenía para San Juan y me he cogido unos días para poder coincidir.

I've been missing for some days now, but for a good reason: I've been on holidays with my boyfriend to Copenhague. This year he is having his holidays now, in June-July, so, as I had a long weekend at work, I took the rest of the week off to coincide with his holidays.

Quienes me siguen por Instagram ya han ido viendo las fotos que he ido subiendo durante el viaje, pero quiero prepararos un post para que veáis la ruta que hemos hecho. De momento, os dejo una de una puesta de sol preciosa, parecía que había fuego en el cielo!

Those who follow me on Instagram have seen the photos I've published during the trip. But I'd like to prepare a post with some photos so you can see the route we made. At the moment, I publish one of a beautiful sunset, it seemed there was fire in the sky!
