Así que empecé a pensar qué podía hacer con ellas, hasta que hace un día vi el cojín que había hecho Amy Sinibaldi a partir del diseño "Kaleidescope Miniquilt" de Jemima Flendt (Tied With A Ribbon). So I began thinking about what I could do with them, until I saw the cushion that Amy Sinibaldi made from the "Kaleidescope Miniquilt" pattern, by Jemima Flendt (Tied With A Ribbon).
Lo tuve clarísimo: quería un cojín con ese diseño con las telas de Art Gallery Fabrics que había ganado. And I knew for sure that I wanted that cushion with the fabrics I'd won.
Y estoy contentísima con el resultado. No sé qué pensaréis vosotras, pero me encanta el aire fresco y la alegría que le da al sofá. And I'm so happy with it! I don't know what you think, but I love the fresh and bright touch it gives to the sofa.
Lo mejor es que todavía me queda bastante de cada tela, así que ahora no sé si hacer otro cojín o un camino de mesa a conjunto, que el que tengo ya está un poco viejo. The best thing is that I still have quite a lot of fabrics from the bundle, so I don't know what to do now: another cushion or a table runner, as the one I've got is quite old.
Mi hermana y mis sobrinos vinieron a Barcelona a pasar unos días en julio y, claro, tenía que hacerles algo a mis niños :)))) Last July, my sister came with my nephews to spend some days in Barcelona. And, of course, I had to sew something to them :))))

Hojeando un día el nuevo libro de Tone Finnanger, Los juguetes de Tilda, vi que incluía los patrones de una serpiente muy simpática y alegre, así que me compré el libro. La verdad es que el libro vale mucho la pena, seguro que hago más cosas de él. One day I was browsing through Tone Finnanger's new book, Tilda's Toy Box, and I saw that it included the patterns of a lovely and bright snake, so I bought it. In fact it's worth buying it, I'm sure I will do more projects from it.
La elección de los colores fue muy fácil: anaranjados para Simón y verdes y azules para Bruno. It was very easy to choose the colours for each of the boys: orangeys for Simón and greens and blues for Bruno.
Además ha sido una buena oportunidad para seguir practicando con la máquina de coser. Ah, y un consejo, no hay que rellenar mucho la serpiente para que se pueda enroscar bien. And it has been a great opportunity to practise with the sewing machine. Ah, and one important tip is that the snake doesn't need to be too stuffed so that it can wind itself.
Estoy muy contenta por el resultado, y mis sobrinos también. Ahora también duermen con ellas cada noche. A este ritmo, al final no cabrán en la cama con tantos muñecos... I'm very happy with them, and so do my nephews. They now sleep with them too. At this rate, they won't fit in their own beds with so many softies ...
Ya me han dicho que ahora quieren un águila, así que en eso estoy. Ya os lo enseñaré. They have asked me now an eagle... and this is what I'm doing at this moment.
Y casi sin darme cuenta, han llegado y ya se han acabado las vacaciones. ¿Cómo os han ido a vosotr@s? ¿Ya las habéis hecho o las tenéis que empezar? Nosotros este año hemos hecho una ruta por Irlanda, un país precioso que nos ha encantado descubrir. A ver si organizo las fotos y publico alguna en el blog. El pasado mes de julio fue el cumpleaños de mi compañera de trabajo Carme (@carmeta_rs). Ella es una apasionada del punto y del ganchillo, y hablando un día con ella se me ocurrió el regalo perfecto que hacerle: una funda para las agujas de ganchillo. Last July, it was my workmate Carme's birthday (@carmeta_rs). She is a passionate knitter and crocheter and I thought that a crochet needle case would be the perfect gift for her.
Aprovechando que le hacía una funda para ella, decidí hacerme una para mí, ya que es uno de esos proyectos que tenía pendiente desde hace tiempo. As I was making one for her, I decided to make another one for me, as this is a project I wanted to do for a long time.
El color preferido de Carme es el rojo, así que, cuando encontré entre mis telas un lino rojizo que había comprado en alguna feria, decidí utilizarlo en el suyo y combinarlo con una tela estampada que justo tenía el mismo tono. Carme's favourite colour is red, so, when I found a reddish linen in my fabric stash I had bought some time ago at a fair, I decided to use it and combine it with a printed fabric that had the same shade.
Y éste es el que me he quedado yo. And this is mine.
Los he hecho bastante amplios para poder guardar bastantes agujas. A mí todavía me queda algún espacio para llenar, pero Carme ya lo tiene lleno :))) I've made them quite big so that we can put many crochet needles inside. I still have some empty space, but Carme's is already full :)))
