A Tisket A Tasket - 2º bloque/ 2nd Block

Otro más, qué bien! La verdad es que estos días tengo poco tiempo, pero es como una droga, y a cada minuto que tengo libre, me pongo a ello.... ;)

Al final este fin de semana no he podido ir a la Feria de Patchwork de Sitges porque me he tenido que quedar a trabajar :( A ver si el año que viene sí que puedo... De momento, me contentaré visitando los blogs de quienes sí han podido asistir.

I haven't been able to go to the Patchwork Fair at Sitges (near Barcelona) because I have had too much work :( I hope next year I can... At the moment I'll be satisfied by visiting the blogs of the people who have gone there.

Bordando / Embroidery

A Tisket A Tasket- 1er bloque/ 1st Block

He acabado el 1er bloque del BOM de A Tisket A Tasket. Lo he hecho todo en punto de cadeneta... ¿qué pensáis? la verdad es que no tengo mucha experiencia en bordado (por no decir ninguna), así que no sé si hubiera quedado mejor con otro tipo de punto...

I've finished the 1st block of A Tisket A Tasket BOM. I've made it all with chain stitch.... what do you think? The truth is that I've got little experience in embroidery (not to say anything), so I don't know if it would have looked better with another type of stitch...

Pero bueno, estoy bastante contenta con el resultado...
But I'm quite happy with the result...

A Tisket A Tasket - Bunny Hill Designs

En paralelo al BOM Snowbound que me estoy haciendo, he decidido hacer el BOM A Tisket A Tasket, también de Anne Sutton (Bunny Hill Designs) (sí, llamadme loca si queréis.... ;) ). Hasta hace poco se podía descargar gratuito desde su página web, pero ahora se puede adquirir en su tienda.

In parallel to the Snowbound BOM that I'm making, I've decided to make the A Tisket A Taket BOM, also from Anne Sutton (Bunny Hill Designs) (yes, you can call me crazy if you want.... ;) ). Until a short time ago you could download it free from her website, but now you can buy it from her shop.

Yo voy a hacer el trabajo bordado en rojo y será un regalo para mis padres. Intentaré que sea una sorpresa, pero no sé si podré aguantar sin decirles nada.... La idea es que sea un regalo para Navidades, pero conociéndome, en cuanto lo tenga acabado se lo daré (soy optimista y creo que será antes de Navidades:) ).

I'm going to make the RedWork and it will be a present for my parents. I'll will try it to be a surprise, but I'm not really sure I will resist the temptation to tell them.... The idea is to be a Christmas gift, but, as I know myself, I'm sure that as soon as I finish it, I will give it to them (I'm optimistic and I think I will finish it before Xmas :) ).

Se me han instalado un par de búhos gemelos en el romero que tengo en casa.....

Snowbound: 2º muñeco de nieve/ 2nd Snowman

He acabado el 2º bloque del muñeco de nieve (febrero).

I've finished the 2nd block of the Snowman (February).

No me puedo creer que vaya al día!

I can't believe I'm up to date!

La semana que viene tengo previsto acabar una cosita pendiente desde........ ¡¡¡hace 1 año!!!! (no puede ser!!! ¿cómo es posible que el tiempo pase tan rápido???)
Next week I've planned to finish one thing still unfinished since........... 1 year ago!!!!!! (it can't be possible!!!!! how time flies!!!!!)

9º Adorno / 9th Ornament

No os lo había puesto todavía, pero en Navidades recibí el 9º adorno del 4º Swap de adornos navideños de FreshlyBlended. Es una alegre y navideña corona de cuentas que me envió Special Teacher.

I hadn't published it yet, but on Christmas I received the 9th ornament for the 4th Holiday Ornament Swap organized by FreshlyBlended. It's a lively, bright and Chrismas wreath made of beads that sent me Special Teacher.

En realidad es un adorno muy especial que realizaron los alumnos de la clase de educación especial de la Sra. Sandford. Tal como explican en su carta, gracias a esta actividad aprendieron sobre patrones, a colocar contando 2 cuentas rojas y 4 cuentas verdes, a escribir la dirección en el sobre y a situar en el mapamundi los diferentes sitios donde enviaron sus adornos.

In fact, it's a very special ornament which was made by the Special Education Class of Mrs. Sandford. They sent me the following note with it:

"We wanted to include a note with our ornament that we made in class. We have been learning about patterns. We made this ornament by counting 2 red beads and then we counted 4 green beads. It took us longer than it would for you because we have some physical disabilities. Our teacher and aides helped us by placing their hand over our hand as we put the beads onto the pipe cleaner. We sure had fun making this ornament for you. Now we are learning how to put an address on the envelope. We are finding all the places on the world map to see where they will end up. We can't wait to see what ornaments will be sent to us. We hope you have a very special holiday season.

La verdad es que fue muy emocionante leer su carta y descubrir que esta actividad podía ser tan didáctica. ¡Muchísimas gracias!! Me encantó el adorno!!!

Ya he acabado el primer bloque del muñeco de nieve...

I have finished the first block of the snowman...

Pero copié el patrón ¡¡al revés!!! Me di cuenta demasiado tarde!!! Pero bueno, lo dejo así y me servirá para acordarme en los siguientes.

But I copied the pattern in the wrong direction!!!! I realized too late!!! But I leave it like this, and so I will remember about this in the following blocks.

Snowbound: 1er bloque / 1st Block

¡He acabado el primer bloque!!!! Podéis ver que no es el del muñeco de nieve... ese es el que voy a hacer ahora ;) Si recordáis, como lo voy a hacer todo a mano, he decidido ir haciendo ya todos los bloques...

I've finished my first block!!! You can see it's not the snowman... this is the one I'm going to do now ;) If you remember, as I'm to do everything by hand, I've decided to make already all the blocks...

Snowbound: Telas / Fabrics

Ya tengo las telas para hacer este BOM. Como lo voy a hacer todo a mano, coseré los bloques "Irish Chain" paralelamente a la aplicación del muñeco de nieve. Y como soy novata, he adaptado las medidas a centímetros... (todavía es demasiado complicado para mí pensar en yardas)

I've got the fabrics to make this BOM. As I'm going to make it all by hand, I'll sew the Irish Chain Blocks in parallel with the snowmen appliqué. And as I'm a beginner, I've adapted it to centimeters... (it's still too difficult for me to think in yards)

Diseño blog / Blog Design

He conseguido que las puntas redondeadas de los recuadros dejen de tener el antiguo color de fondo (verde)! Bien! Aunque no está muy bien hecho (se nota algo pixelado....), para los conocimientos que tengo, me puedo dar por contenta...

The rounded corners of all the boxes don't have the old background colour (green) anymore! Yes!! It's not very well done (you can notice the pixels....), but as my knowledge is not too high, I can count myself lucky...

Ya llegan los Reyes/ The Three Wise Men are coming

Los Reyes Magos de Oriente ya casi han llegado al portal de Belén...

Me encanta hacer el Belén. Tenía muy claro que cuando me fuera a vivir a mi propio piso (hace ya cinco años), seguiría haciéndolo... tuviera o no tuviera niños (que no tengo), con pareja o sin pareja (que sí tengo)...

I love making the Nativity. I was very sure that when I lived in my own house (for five years now), I will be making it... with or without children (I don't have any), with or without a partner (I have one)...

La Anunciación: / The Annunciation:

Antes de empezar a hacerlo, preparo todo lo que necesito: figuras, papel de plata, musgo y, lo más importante, guantes (para limpiar el musgo) e insecticida!!!! jejeje, no sería la primera vez que me encuentro a algún "monstruo" arrastrante....

Before making it, I prepare everything I need: figures, aluminium foil, moss and, the most important, gloves (to clean the moss) and insecticide!!! hahaha, it wouldn't be the first time that I find some crawling "monsters"...

El típico caganer catalán:
The typical Catalan figure "caganer". It could be translated into English as "shitter"... yes, it's literally that, a peasant that is defecating... The origins of this figure could be humorous, or it's also a symbol of prosperity and good luck, as he is fertilizing the Earth.

Cambiando el diseño/ Changing the design

Estoy intentando cambiar el diseño del blog. De momento he conseguido cambiar el fondo, pero me he dado cuenta que todos los recuadros siguen teniendo las puntas redondeadas del antiguo color del fondo! Claro, es que son imágenes!! A ver cómo lo consigo cambiar... porque no tengo mucha idea, la verdad...

I'm trying to change the design of my blog. At the moment, I've been able to change the background, but I have realized that all the rounded corners of all the boxes stil have the old colour of the background! ...it's because they're images!! Let's see how I change it ... because I've got no idea...
