Colcha en proceso / Quilt in Progress

Entre los varios proyectos que tengo entre manos (sin contar los UFOs!), os quiero enseñar la colcha que estoy haciendo. 

Among the current projects I'm working on (without UFOs!), I'd like to show you the quilt I'm making right now.

Es un proyecto muy sencillo: cuadros de 10x10cm de unas telas preciosas de Dashwood Studio, que compré en rebajas en Nunoya. Esta tienda es mi perdición, al final tuve que decirle a Manel que me contuviera porque me estaba cogiendo media tienda jajaja.

It's a very simple project: 10x10cm squares of some wonderful fabrics by Dashwood Studio, which I bought in the sales at Nunoya. I just can't resist this shop, at the end, I had to ask Manel to stop me because I was buying the whole shop hahaha.

Ya tengo cosidas y planchadas todas las tiras y ahora sólo me falta unirlas entre sí. Espero poder enseñaros pronto el resultado final :)))

I've already sewn and ironed all the strips, and now I only need to sew the strips together. I hope to show you the finished quilt soon :)))

Individuales de manzana / Apple Place Mats

Mi hermana, la que vive en un pueblecito de Burgos, cumple años el 5 de enero. Hace ya años que vienen a Barcelona con los niños para pasar la Nochebuena y el día de Navidad con nosotros, pero para su cumpleaños ya suelen haber vuelto al pueblo... pero ¿sabéis qué? En mi familia lo seguimos celebrando... sí, ¡sin ella! Pero es que, además, no sólo mis padres y nosotros sino que vienen unos tíos y mis primos también jajaja 
Es la tradición, y eso sí, la llamamos cuando ya hemos llegado todos a casa de mis padres.

My sister's birthday is on the 5th of January, the day before the Three Wise Men's Celebration. She lives in a little village in Burgos with her husband and my nephews. They usually come to Barcelona to celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with us, but they have normally gone back home by her birthday... but, do you know something? In my family, we still celebrate it... without her! And my aunt and uncle come too hahaha
It's a tradicion, and we phone her when we are all together.

Esto os lo cuento porque esa noche vienen a cenar mi primo y su mujer, los que se casaron este 2017 (os enseñé el cojín portaalianzas que les regalé en este post). 

I explain this because my cousin and his wife also come to have dinner with us. They got married last year (I showed you the Wedding Ring Pillow I made for them in this post).

Como les gusta mucho el té y todo lo japonés y kawaii, pensé en hacerles unos individuales con una tela súper mona de Dashwood Studio con unos "gatitos-manzanas" (applecats). 

As they love tea and everything about Japan and kawaii, I thought in making them some place mats with a super cute fabric by Dashwood Studio (Applecats).

La forma de la manzana de los individuales la hice para que conjuntara con las manzanas de las telas. Me dibujé las plantillas y en un par de horas los tuve hechos. 

I made an apple shape to the place mats because I wanted them to combine with the apples from the fabrics. I drew the templates and I finished them in a couple of hours.  

Estoy muy contenta con el resultado, y a mis primos les encantaron... estoy pensando en hacer alguno más para regalar. 

I'm so happy with the result, and my cousins loved them... I'm thinking in sewing some more to give as a present.

Knitting Project Bag

Hacía tiempo que quería coser la Knitting Project Bag que Alícia del blog Ganxetades nos ofreció en su blog hace ya un tiempo (podéis encontrar el patrón y tutorial en este enlace).

I'd been wanting to sew the Knitting Project Bag by Alicia (Ganxetades blog) for some time. You can find the pattern and tutorial in this link (in Spanish).

A mi amiga Carme (@carmeta_rs) le encanta el punto y el ganchillo así que decidí sorprenderla por su cumpleaños con este proyecto.

My friend Carme (@carmeta_rs) loves knitting and crochetting, so I decided to surprise her with this project for her birthday. 

Las telas tan bonitas que utilicé son de Art Gallery Fabrics y las gané hace unos meses en un concurso que hicieron en su web. Me encantan los estampados y colores tan modernos que tienen todas sus colecciones!

To sew it, I used the beautiful fabrics from Art Gallery Fabrics that I won on a giveaway some months ago. I love the modern patterns and colours from all their collections! 

¿Qué os parece? A Carme le gustó muchísimo y lo usa desde el primer día :)))

Colchas arco iris modernas / Modern Rainbow Quilts

Últimamente me he dado cuenta que me encantan las colchas multicolores de estilo moderno. ¡Son tan alegres!

I have realized that I love modern rainbow quilts. They are so cheerful!

He tenido la gran suerte de ganar estas telas tan bonitas en el concurso #whatshadeareyou que organizó RJR Fabrics en Instagram. Y además fueron súper amables porque les devolvieron las telas y me las volvieron a enviar :))) 

I have been really like to win these beautiful fabrics on the #whatshadeareyou giveaway organized by RJR Fabrics on Instagram. And they were incredibly kind because they were returned the fabrics and they sent them to me again :)))

Estoy contentísima con estas telas!! ¡Me encantan todos los colores! Así que ahora estoy entretenida buscando un proyecto donde pueda utilizarlas. De momento estoy buscando inspiración en mi carpeta de Colchas en Pinterest, pero os pongo algunas de mis preferidas en este post (encontraréis los enlaces en las fotos).

Individuales y posavasos / Place Mats & Mug Rugs

Estas Navidades decidí hacer algunos de los regalos que iba a dar en lugar de comprar algo, y visto el éxito que han tenido, creo que a partir de ahora regalaré más cosas hechas por mí. 

Instead of buying something, I decided to make some of the presents I was going to give on Christmas. Given the success, I think I'm going to give more handmade works in the future.

Hoy os enseño el regalo para mi hermana: un par de individuales y posavasos a conjunto. 

Today I show you the present for my sister: two place mats and a set of mug rugs.

Para inspirarme, busqué en mi tablero de Pinterest de Individuales y Posavasos. No sé a vosotras, pero a mí me encanta esta red social para buscar ideas e inspiración. 

A source of inspiration was my Pinterest pinboard about Place mats and Mug rugs. I don't know you, but I love this social network to look for ideas and inspiration.

Las telas que he utilizado son de Dashwood Studio combinadas con lino. Una de mis preferidas es, sobre todo, la de "Applecats" y por eso decidí utilizarla en los individuales. ¡Estos gatitos-manzanas son tan cucos!!

I have used some fabrics by Dashwood Studio that I have combined with linen. One of my favourites is, especially, "Applecats" fabric, so I decided to use it in the place mats. These cats and appleas are so cute!!

Como tela trasera he utilizado la misma para todo: un lino con un estampado geométrico japonés. 

The back fabric is the same for all of them: a linen with a Japanese geometric pattern.

Tanto los individuales como los posavasos son sencillísimos de hacer. Seguí el tutorial de Actually Amy, cuyo paso a paso queda muy claro.

Both the place mats and the mug rugs are really easy to do. I followed Actually Amy's tutorial, which is very well explained. 

¡A mi hermana le encantaron!

Cesta para lanas con telas AGF / Basket for Yarns with AGF Fabrics

Casi sin darme cuenta he acumulado bastantes ovillos para tejer amigurumies que tenía guardados en un par de bolsas de plástico horrorosas. Por eso me he decidido a hacerme una cesta de patchwork para guardarlos todos.

Without realizing, I have accumulated a quite big stash of yarns to crochet amigurumies, which were stored in two horrible plastic bags. This is why I decided to make a fabric basket to store all of them.

Todas las telas que he utilizado son de la colección Lavish diseñada por Katarina Roccella para AGF Fabrics, y las he combinado con lino. Ah, y la cesta es reversible :))

All the fabrics I've used are from the fabric collection Lavish, designed by Katarina Roccella for AGF Fabrics, and I've combined them with linen. And it's a reversible basket :))

No sé si os pasa a vosotr@s, pero como siempre he tardado más pensando en el diseño y en cómo combinar las telas que en hacerla. Para buscar inspiración, revisé todas las cestas que tengo guardadas en mi tablero del Pinterest de cestas. Os pongo el enlace por si queréis echarle un vistazo. 

I don't know if it's the same for you, but it always takes me longer to think about the design and how to combine fabrics than to sew it. To look for inspiration, I checked all the baskets I saved on my Pinterest pinboard about fabric baskets (click on the link if you wish to have a look).

La cesta es bastante grande (mide 30x30x30cm). La he hecho amplia para que me quepan muchos ovillos. 

The basket is quite big (it measures 30x30x30cm). It's this big because I want to store many yarns inside.

Buscando por Internet encontré un tutorial que se adaptaba muy bien al tamaño de la cesta que quería hacer. El tutorial es de Bettyjoy Tutorials. Está en inglés pero se sigue muy bien con las imágenes.

Looking through the Internet I found the perfect tutorial for what I needed. It's from Bettyjoy Tutorials.

Estoy muy contenta con el resultado, y ahora tengo todos mis ovillos ordenados en el mismo sitio :))

I'm really happy with it, and now I have all my yarns at the same place :))

Cojín Caleidoscopio con telas AGF / Kaleidescope Cushion with AGF Fabrics

Hace unas semanas tuve la gran suerte de ganar el sorteo que organizó Art Gallery Fabrics de su nueva colección de telas Essentials II, diseñada por Pat Bravo.

Some weeks ago I was really lucky to win a bundle of fat quarters of the new fabric collection designed by Pat Bravo for Art Gallery Fabrics: Essentials II collection.

Ya os podéis imaginar mi cara cuando recibí el paquete... ¡son tan bonitas!! Los estampados y los colores son preciosos y combinan perfectamente entre ellos. Sí, todavía sonrío cuando las miro jejeje

You can imagine my face when I received the package... they're so beautiful!! Patterns and colours are so pretty and they perfectly combine. And yes, I still smile when I look at them hehehe

Así que empecé a pensar qué podía hacer con ellas, hasta que hace un día vi el cojín que había hecho Amy Sinibaldi a partir del diseño "Kaleidescope Miniquilt" de Jemima Flendt (Tied With A Ribbon).

So I began thinking about what I could do with them, until I saw the cushion that Amy Sinibaldi made from the "Kaleidescope Miniquilt" pattern, by Jemima Flendt (Tied With A Ribbon).

 

Lo tuve clarísimo: quería un cojín con ese diseño con las telas de Art Gallery Fabrics que había ganado.

And I knew for sure that I wanted that cushion with the fabrics I'd won.

Y estoy contentísima con el resultado. No sé qué pensaréis vosotras, pero me encanta el aire fresco y la alegría que le da al sofá. 

And I'm so happy with it! I don't know what you think, but I love the fresh and bright touch it gives to the sofa.

Lo mejor es que todavía me queda bastante de cada tela, así que ahora no sé si hacer otro cojín o un camino de mesa a conjunto, que el que tengo ya está un poco viejo.

The best thing is that I still have quite a lot of fabrics from the bundle, so I don't know what to do now: another cushion or a table runner, as the one I've got is quite old.
