Colcha de bebé acabada / Woodland Baby Quilt Finished

Ya he vuelto de mis vacaciones en el pueblo, ¡qué rápido se me han pasado estos días! y ¡qué bien me lo he pasado con mis sobrinillos! Y aproveché para darle a mi hermana la colcha para Fabio y ¡les encantó a todos!! 

I've come back from my holidays at my sister's home in a little village. These days have flown by! and I've had such a great time with my little nephews! 
I gave the baby quilt for Fabio to my sister and all the family loved it!!

La colcha mide en total 150x90cm y la parte central 120x60cm. Tuve en cuenta las medidas de la cuna del Ikea para diseñarla.

The quilt measures 150x90cm and the center is 120x60cm. I used the dimensions of Ikea's cots to design it.

El color de base que he usado ha sido el azul, y a partir de ahí he elegido todas las telas. Quería un estilo moderno, fresco y alegre y creo que lo he conseguido.

I've used blue as the base colour of the quilt, so I chose fabrics to combine with this colour. I wanted to make a modern, fresh and bright quilt and I think I've managed to do it.

  

En estas fotos podéis ver un poco más en detalle las aplicaciones y el acolchado, que lo he hecho muy sencillo: he seguido todas las aplicaciones, los cuadros del marco y los bordes. Lo único que he añadido ha sido la forma de una luna en la esquina superior sobre el fondo blanco.

In the following photos you can see the applications and quilting more in detail. Quilting is very simple: I've just followed all the appliqués, squares and seams. The only thing I've added is a half moon in the top right corner on the white background.

Tanto el búho como el zorro les han parecido muy graciosos :)))

They found both the owl and the fox really cute :)))

Al pie del árbol he bordado el nombre de Fabio a punto de cadeneta.

At the bottom of the tree I've embroidered Fabio's name with chain stitch.

Aquí podéis ver un poco más cerca el acolchado de las hojas.

Here you can see the quilting of leaves a bit closer.

Y aquí está la trasera. Si ampliáis la foto se puede ver la silueta del árbol con las hojas, el búho, el zorro y todo el marco de recuadros. 

And this is the back of the quilt. If you enlarge the photos, you can see the silhouette of the tree with the leaves, the owl and the fox and all the squared frame.

Ya os he dicho antes que es muy sencillo, pero me gusta cómo queda.

As I've told you above, it's very simple, but I like it. 

Mi hermana aprovechó para lavar la colcha junto con la que le hice en su día para Simón (y que podéis ver aquí). Se ve mucho más pequeña a su lado! Esta vez mi hermana me pidió que la de Fabio fuera más grande porque la de las ranas queda un poquito corta en la cuna. 
Quedan bonitas, ¿verdad?

My sister washed this quilt with the one I made to my nephew Simon when he was born (you can see it here). It looks much smaller! My sister asked me to make Fabio's quilt a bit bigger because the Frog Pond quilt is a little short for the cot.
They look nice together, don't they?

He disfrutado mucho con todo el proceso de principio a fin y estoy muy contenta con el resultado. Casi casi lo que más me costó fue pensar en el diseño, pero me lo pasé muy bien buscando ideas en Pinterest. 

I've really enjoyed all the process from beginning to end and I'm very happy with the result. In fact, what I found most difficult was thinking about the design, but I loved looking for ideas in Pinterest.
