Country Vache acabado / Finished Country Vache

En octubre del 2012 empecé con el primer bloque del tapiz Country Vache (aquí), un SAL que organizó Sonia ese año. Ya hace unos meses que lo he acabado, pero entre unas cosas y otras aún no os lo había enseñado. Así que (¡por fin!) aquí está.

In October 2012 I began with the first block of the Country Vache quilt (here), a SAL organized by Sonia that year. I finished it some months ago, but I haven't showed it to you yet. So here it is at last!

Es un regalo para mi hermana. Ella vive en un pueblecito en el campo, y le va perfecto con el estilo rústico de su casa.

It's a present for my sister. She lives in a very small village in the countryside so this quilt is perfect for her house rustic style.

Me ha encantado coser un diseño tan simpático y alegre. No se puede negar que estas vacas son graciosísimas :)

I've really enjoyed to sew such a lovely and cheerful design. These cows are very funny :)

Como podéis ver, el acolchado que he hecho es muy sencillo, alrededor de cada vaca, de cada recuadro siguiendo las costuras, y en los cuadritos pequeños en cruz.

As you can see, the quilting is very simple. I've just sewn around each cow, following all seams and, in the small squares, I've just made a cross.

Aquí no me acaba de gustar el acolchado, pero ahora ya está...

I don't really like the quilting in this block... (it says: "happiness is in the countryside").

Aquí podéis ver la trasera. Se puede ver más o menos el acolchado del tapiz.

Here you can see the back side. You can see more or less the quilting of the quilt.

Estos días estoy acolchando el Country Vache. Ya me queda muy poco :))

Hilvanando / Basting

Pues ya tengo el siguiente paso hecho... he tardado un par de horas en hilvanarlo todo y anoche ya empecé a acolcharlo... espero no tardar mucho...

So, the next step is done... it took me a couple of hours to baste it all, and yesterday I began to quilt it... I hope it won't take me a long time...

Country Vache

Poco a poco voy avanzando con el Country Vache. Ahora ya le he puesto los marcos y espero ponerme ya mismo a acolcharlo.  

Little by little, I'm making progress with the Country Vache. Now I've sewn the borders and I want to begin quilting it rigth away.

Aquí ya se nota que es verano, no veáis qué calor hace! Así que hago bastante pereza en ponerme a coser, pero quiero dárselo a mi hermana estas vacaciones (ya veremos), por lo que intentaré ponerme a ello...

Now you can tell it's Summer, it's really hot here! So I feel terribly lazy to sew something, but I want to give it to my sister this Summer (we'll see), so I'll try to start doing it...

Country Vache

Estos días me he centrado en ir avanzando el Country Vache y ya he unido todos los bloques. He tardado un poco porque lo estoy haciendo a mano. Ahora sólo me falta comprar la tela para los bordes y la trasera y acolcharlo todo :)

These days I've focussed on the Country Vache and I've sewn together all the blocks. It has taken me some time because it's handmade. Now, I just need to buy the fabric for the borders and the back and quilt it :)

Country Vache: Todos juntos / All together

Ayer salió el sol en Barcelona, así que pude hacer unas fotos a todos los bloques de las vacas juntos... aunque no son muy buenas, pero así os podéis hacer una idea :)

Yesterday it was a sunny day in Barcelona, so I took some photos of all the cows together... They are not very good, but you can have an overview :)

Ya estoy cosiendo las tiras de cuadrados 3x3 que irán entre algunos de los bloques. Y el siguiente paso será unirlo todo.

I'm sewing now the 3x3 squares that go between some of the blocks. And the next step will be to sew them all together.

Country Vache: 12 y último/ 12 & the last one

Y por fin!!! He acabado el último bloque del Country Vache!!!!! Ahora ya "sólo" me falta unirlos y acolcharlo... 

At last!!! I've finished the last block of the Country Vache!!! Now I "only" need to sew them together and quilt them...

He hecho una foto de todas las vacas juntas, pero ha salido muy amarilla. A ver si la repito y queda mejor para enseñárosla.

I've taken a photo of all the cows together, but it's very yellowish. I'll take a new one and show it to you.

Bueno, pues aquí os enseño el siguiente bloque. Ya sólo me queda uno, y ya lo he empezado :))

Estoy contenta de cómo me ha quedado la aplicación a punto escondido... pero lo que tengo que mejorar son los círculos, siempre me quedan picos.

I'm happy with the hidden stitch for the appliqué... but I should improve the circles, as they always have pointed edges.

Os enseño un par de bloques más del Country Vache. A ver si le doy un último empujoncillo y los acabo ya. Estoy en ese punto en que quieres tener acabada ya una labor... 

Here you can see two more blocks of the Country Vache. See if I can give it a push and finish all the rest. I'm at the point where you already want to have finished a project...

Ya he acabado los bloques 7 y 8 del Country Vache:

Este bloque de la vaca no me acaba de convencer, no sé, quizás es de un color demasiado claro... pero no lo voy a cambiar...

There's something about this block of the cow I'm not sure about, I don't know, maybe it's too pale... but I'm not going to change it...

Pero la florecilla sí que me gusta :)

But I like this flower :)

Mañana y pasado tengo fiesta! Así que intentaré avanzar en mis proyectos, aunque ya veremos, que me conozco...

Tomorrow and on Friday is a bank holiday! So I will try to make progress with my projects, but we'll see (I know myself hehe)...

Country Vache: 4

Ahora sí que podemos decir que ha llegado el otoño. Este fin de semana han bajado las temperaturas de golpe en Barcelona, ya era hora! Debemos estar ahora mismo a unos 12ºC! (aquí es frío, jeje)

Now we can say that Autumn is here. Temperatures have fallen sharply on the weekend in Barcelona. I think we are now at 12ºC! (it's cold here, hehehe)

Aprovechando el frío, he estado cosiendo este fin de semana y he acabado el siguiente bloque del Country Vache, el nº 4:

As it was cold outside, I've been sewing this weekend and I've finished the next block (nº 4) of the Country Vache:

El bordado lo he hecho con punto de cadeneta.
For the embroidery, I've used the chain stitch.

Bueno, bueno, dos bloques en una semana! He batido mi récord, jejeje
Two blocks in one week, wow! I've broken my record, hehehe

Este fin de semana he estado preparando todas las piezas para aplicar los otros bloques. Sólo me falta escoger las telas y coserlos.

This weekend I've been preparing all the pieces of the other blocks. Now I just have to choose the fabrics and sew them.

Country Vache - bloque 1/ 1st block

Parece que mi racha "sin agujas" ha acabado: ya vuelvo a coser!! Y me he dado cuenta que lo echaba de menos :))

It seems that my phase "without needles" has come to an end: I've begun sewing again!! And I've realized that I really missed it :))

Ahora me he puesto con el SAL Country Vache que organizó Sonia antes del verano. En su día lo empecé, pero ahí se quedó...

Now I've started the Country Vache SAL organized by Sonia before Summer. I began it then, but...

Este es el primer bloque y los corazones de abajo pertenecen al segundo. Por cierto, sí, sí, ya sé que el pajarillo del corazón del medio está al revés, pero no lo voy a repetir, jejeje

This is the first block, and the hearts below belong to the second one. By the way, yes, yes, I know that the bird on the middle heart is upside down, but I'm not going to do it again, hehehe.
